Ice skating at the Sculpture Garden

We headed down to D.C. this morning to skate at the Sculpture Garden next to the Hirschhorn Museum on the Mall.  Isaac has been wanting to go ice skating for so long now!  I still can’t get out on the ice, but Aunt Rachel and Mimi were happy to hold his hand and skate him around the rink.

They didn’t have the double-bladed ice skates, so he was a little wobbly at first, but he figured out how to stand on them pretty quickly.

He wanted to just take off and zoom around!

They made five laps around, which is not too bad for a 2 1/2 year old :).  We warmed up in the cafe next door while Isaac enjoyed the ginormous cookie he suckered his Daddy into buying for him.

Then we all piled into the car and drove back to Rachel’s neighborhood, where we had lunch in the basement of a fun little Mexican restaurant.
