Birthday Boy part 1

Mid-week birthdays are always pretty quiet, but luckily we had great weather on Isaac’s actual birthday, so he was able to enjoy his new birthday scooter! And of course, we had cake! The only thing Isaac asked for for his birthday was chocolate cake :).   Aunt Rachel came to help us celebrate.   And…

Three Years Old

I’m ridiculously late posting this, but better late than never, right?  Isaac turned three April 23rd. Here’s a little interview with the birthday boy, from back in April: What’s your favorite color?  Orange (It’s been orange since he was old enough to know his colors, but he loves brown almost as much) What’s your favorite food?…

Kitchen sink bath

He may be almost three, but he’s still little enough to take a bath in the kitchen sink.  Probably not for too much longer, though!  He got a little excited about his poached eggs at breakfast one morning, and was shoveling it in with both hands, so straight into the sink he went afterward.  …

Almost Three

I keep referring to Isaac as 2 1/2, but he’s not so much 2 1/2 as he is ALMOST THREE. Holy moly, how did that happen? Of course, if you ask him he’ll tell you he’s six :). Or today, “I’m forty, Mama”. Um, no.  He did tell me at nap time the other day…

Daddies are so much fun :). Hanging out after church: Flying!…

Sledding!

This was yesterday: Today, it was even more fun because Daddy was home! He wanted to try sledding down the yard after a while.  It’s nowhere near as steep, but the idea of sledding right into the woods appealed to him for some reason.  There were considerably more trees he could run into, so we…

Merry Christmas!

Isaac enjoyed decorating the tree this year, but was mostly interested in dismantling it, lights and all. Last weekend, we went to a farm down the street that has a “North Pole” walk in the woods, and a Santa, plus free hot chocolate and cookies.  It was a blast, and a walk in the woods…

Advent is here!

Isaac was very excited about the Advent wreath that appeared on our table this morning.  He was a little confused about why we weren’t lighting all the candles yet, and then wanted to blow out the purple one we did light over and over, haha.  I kept telling him “It’s not a birthday cake, silly!”.…
