I found the perfect curtains for the nursery at IKEA! I love them, and they’re going to go perfectly with the crib bumper and skirt Mom and I are making.
They just need to be hemmed, which luckily with these curtains doesn’t involve a sewing machine. They are an easy iron-to-hem curtain, which means you just have to pin to the appropriate length, lay down this special hemming strip that came in the package and iron it to fasten. Easy-peasy.
I also finished sewing three of the flannel receiving blankets:
Nothing fancy there, just a simple zig-zag stitch.
This weekend, we also cleaned out our closets. It’s almost time to pack away winter clothes completely. We’re getting another cold snap right now, but I’m sooo ready to get rid of all of these jackets and sweaters! We both went through our closets and put together a bag or two for Goodwill.
Next on my list is clearing out room in the bathroom cabinets and linen closet for baby stuff. We should have warm weather again by this weekend – we’ll be back in the 50’s and I can’t wait! I’m ready to do some serious cleaning and airing out of this house, but this cold weather keeps me bundled up with a hot cup of tea and the fire going. There’s a chance of snow on Wednesday…ugh.
Still, it’s only March :). We’re already way ahead of last year as far as good weather goes, so I can’t really complain. And in just 11 days, I’ll be on a plane to Louisiana anyway – completely different weather there, that’s for sure!
Oh- I love the curtains! So light and breezy… perfect for those cool spring breezes and bright summer days 🙂 I can’t believe you’ll be here in 11 days! So exciting!!! I have a few things to show you :)… it was too hard to resist the temptation… and just WAIT until we know whether or not the baby is a boy or girl! Watch out 😉
love you, em
Dittos! I’m sooooooo excited! Love you, Mom
