Loving his aunt and uncle

Isaac has really enjoyed Uncle Ben and Aunt Rachel’s visit!  He lights up whenever they’re nearby, and is always ready with a big smile for them.  Plus, they’ve been a huge help to me – helping with dishes, cooking dinner, keeping the baby happy while I take showers or do laundry.  It’s wonderful! Big smiles…

happy naked baby

Is there anything better than a naked baby? It’s been so hot here – close to 100 all week!  We’ve been running the AC nonstop, which is going to be painful when the bill gets here…but this little guy runs pretty hot and can’t sleep unless it’s cool. Speaking of sleep, he’s been doing so…

gift

Isaac got a lovely gift from Chris’ boss: Luckily, he hasn’t had to wear too many bibs just yet, but I’m sure we’ll need them soon enough!

baby toes

Don’t you wanna just eat those up? No Eddie, you cannot come up on the couch, no matter how sad those puppy dog eyes get. Just checkin’ you out Mama…

One week old today

Isaac is a complete doll!  He’s the sweetest baby, very laid-back, and has been nice enough to break his mama in gently to this mothering thing :). I’m so enjoying holding him, smelling him, and getting to know him. I can’t wait for him to meet his daddy.  Just a couple days now!

We used the leftover popcorn chenille from the crib bumpers (haven’t finished those yet – still need to do the bias trim, so I don’t have pictures), green linen, yellow…

Getting nervous

One more full day until I get on a plane, and the nerves are definitely kicking in. I’ve sewn 8 flannel receiving blankets (8th one not pictured) – My bag is packed…mostly. I have to take the car for an emissions test in the morning, and then I’m just finishing up laundry and double-checking my…

Look what came in the mail!

My very own Maya wrap, made by my wonderfully talented sister!  It’s made from gorgeous teal linen fabric with lime-green stitching, a pocket for an extra diaper, and it fits beautifully. And I think Ozzy enjoyed it.  I was sure he’d complain or refuse to get in, but he liked it!  I was wandering…

Curtains!

I found the perfect curtains for the nursery at IKEA!  I love them, and they’re going to go perfectly with the crib bumper and skirt Mom and I are making. They just need to be hemmed, which luckily with these curtains doesn’t involve a sewing machine.  They are an easy iron-to-hem curtain, which means you…
