So, I made it to Louisiana safely.  Luckily, on the drive back to town from New Orleans, I got a text from Chris that a continuing resolution had passed, funding the government until Thursday, so he WILL get paid this week.  Yay!  That takes some pressure off, certainly!

Yesterday, Emily and one of my mom’s friends threw me the sweetest baby shower :).  I got to see some old friends from high school – some of whom I hadn’t seen in ten years.  We had a blast!

Emily had planned a craft for the shower – onesie decorating – and it was hilarious how much fun everyone had.  She had stencils, paint, and mimosas, and we ended up with some really adorable onesies.  Our baby is going to have some real artwork to wear.  I loved it!

It was really great to visit with everyone, although it was overwhelming for me at one point.  As I sat down to open gifts, it just hit me like a ton of bricks that all of this was for our baby, and I got really emotional and just couldn’t keep it together.  I knew there was a reason I didn’t put on mascara!

Now, we’re just staying busy with some sewing, and waiting for my phone to ring!
